It was a bullish session at the Nigerian Stock Exchange week ended 29th March, 2019 as both the All Share Index (ASI) dropped by 0.31% while the Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.51% closing at 31,041.42 points and N11.672 trillion respectively. The volume of shares however increased by 1.431 billion while the value traded decreased by 0.521 billion while the number of deals consummated decreased by 3,457 from 18,293 the previous week to 15,553 this week.
Trends in the market indicates that ASI has increased by 1,211 basic point maintaining 4% rise since the beginning of 2019.
Market Capitalization has also increased by N548 billion since the beginning of the year 2019 representing 4.9% growth in investors funds at the Nigerian Stock Market.
The financial sector remains the most active sector in terms of Volume and Value of shares traded and the number of deals consummated during the week at the Nigerian stock exchange. The sector accounted for 67%, 87% and 60% of the total value, volume and number of deals respectively.
