It was yet again another bearish session at the Nigerian Stock Exchange week ended 12th of April, 2019, as both the All Share Index (ASI) and Market Capitalization depreciated by 0.19%.
The ASI lost 56 basic point during the week’s trading while Market Capitalization dropped by N21 billion at the end of trading on 12th of April.
The volume of shares traded during the week also follows the drops as it decreased by 1.77 billion while the value of stocks traded also decreased by N5 billion while the number of deals consummated follow suit as it drops by 2,115 from 19,130 the previous week to 17,015 as at Week ended 12th April 2019.
The ASI which currently stood at 29,560 basic point has dropped below Week 1, 2019 closing figure by 678 basic points representing a 2% drop while Market Capitalization which is currently at N11.103 trillion has lost N333 billion representing 3% drop since the beginning of 2019.
The Financial sector (the most advanced sector on the floor of NSE) maintains its dominance in the activity chart with 79%, 71% and 63% of the Value, Volume and number of deals consummated during the week ended 5th April, 2019.
