Sterling Bank Plc has announced the retirement of its Company Secretary and Chief Legal Counsel Ms. Justina Lewa and the appointment of Mrs. Temitayo Adegoke as her replacement.
In a letter addressed to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday and signed by the bank’s Principal Council, Mr. Sunny Kanabe. The bank noted that the appointment of Mrs. Temitope Adegoke has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The letter noted that Ms. Lewa was appointed as Company Secretary and Chief Legal Counsel in July 2009 and has retired after 28 years of meritorious service to the bank.
“Mrs Temitope Adegoke is a seasoned professional with over 15 years experience in the industry. Prior to joining Sterling Bank, Temitope was the General Counsel and Company Secretary of Rand Merchant Bank Limited (RMBN). She brings to the Sterling Bank team, the knowledge and extensive experience she has gathered over the years.
“Prior to joining RMBN, she has also worked with First Bank Nigeria Limited and the commercial law firm of Aluko and Oyebode.
Temitope hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from University of Lagos and a Master’s Degree in Law from the King’s College UK and an MBA from University of Warwick UK. Temitope was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2002. She is an honorary member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB), a member of international bar association and Institute of Arbitration UK (Nigerian Branch).
