The market capitalization also depreciated by same percentage to close at N9,032 trillion as against N9.247 trillion the previous week.It was a 4 days trading week as the market resumes on Tuesday after the new year public holiday. A total volume of 4.319 billion shares was traded worth N7,376 billion in 9,330 deals as compares to 0.406 billion shares worth N3.724 billion in 6,363 deals the previous week.
The Financial sector emerges the most traded in volume with 4.177 million shares representing 96.71% of market total for the week. The sector shares traded are worth N5,306 billion in 5,047 deals representing 71.94% and 54.09% of total market value and deals traded respectively in the week ended 6th January December 2016.
The Oil and Gas Industry sector emerges the second most traded in volume with 65.867million shares representing 1.50% of market total for the week. The sector shares traded are worth N594.522 million in 1,385 deals representing 8.06% and 21.77% of total market value and deals traded respectively during the week.
The Conglomerate sector emerges the third most traded volume with 26.487 million shares representing 0.61% of market total for the week. The sector shares traded are worth N48.163 million traded in 299 deals representing 0.65% and 3.2% of total market value and deals respectively traded in the week ended 6th January 2017.

The ETP market traded a total of 55 units of products exchanged in 11 deals with a total valued of N505.65 as compared to last week units of 9,965 traded in 16 deals worth N55,446.35
