We mourn the sudden demise of one of our staff, which occurred on 2nd June, 2020.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our deceased colleague’s family at this very tough time.
Our Contact Centre was exposed to COVID-19 on or about 27th April, 2020 when one of our staff there tested positive (members of the public were duly notified about this development). Tests were subsequently conducted on staff at the Centre and they were put in self-isolation. Our deceased colleague tested positive. All NCDC-prescribed protocols, including closure of the Centre were duly followed. The Centre was thoroughly disinfected and re-opened after two weeks in line with NCDC protocols.
The NCDC is engaging the family of our deceased staff, especially as the second test carried out about two weeks after the initial positive test, came back negative prior to the unfortunate incident.
The wellbeing of our staff, customers and host communities is of utmost importance to us and we remain fully committed to every effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
We deeply commiserate with and will provide support to the family our colleague left behind and indeed the entire Ecobank family who mourn this very sad loss at this time. As a responsible corporate organisation, Ecobank will continue to ensure implementation of all required standard measures and protocols at all our locations nationwide to help curtail the spread of the virus.
This period in time is unprecedented for everyone and we ask that we all continue to stay safe.
